What you may want to know as a new client

Reaching out for that first appointment can create lots of feelings: relief, hope, fear, overwhelm. Whatever you’re feeling is ok. We hope this page clarifies the process, reduces the anxiety and increases hopefulness and the feeling that we’re here to support you.

Step One: Reach out. We do not collect client information on this website. In an effort to protect your privacy, we ask that you either call our office at 706-443-5433 or email our HIPAA compliant email at https://sendsafe.to/info@mindfulx.site .

Step Two: Now it’s our turn. We will contact you and collect some information about your needs, including whether or not you want to use insurance. Then we will schedule your appointment with the appropriate therapist.

Step Three: Once you are scheduled, we will send you an email with a link to our patient portal. Here you will find all of the initial paperwork that you can fill out at your convenience. This paperwork must be completed before your first appointment. This helps us to insure that we are ready when you arrive for your appointment.

Common Questions About Therapy

What should I expect from our first session?

Your therapist will do everything possible to make your first session comfortable and safe. She will review our policies and a bit about confidentiality in therapy. You’ll have the opportunity to talk about what brings you to therapy and about your goals. Your therapist will ask you questions to get a better understanding of your backgrounds, needs and strengths. At the end of the session, you and your therapist will decide if this is a good fit for you and how to proceed. We believe this is a collaborative process and we will honor your needs and goals.

Do you accept insurance and HSA?

The therapists at The Center For Mindful Exploration are independent practitioners and independently credentialed. You can learn more about what insurance each therapist accepts on their individual pages. We all accept Health Savings Account debit cards. Sliding scale is available.

What is your missed appointment policy?

While we understand that unforeseen barriers can occur, we value your time and have set aside that time specifically for you. We require 24 hour notice for cancellations or changes to your appointment. Appointments cancelled in less than 24 hours may be subject to  full session fee.
