Community Meditation
For more than 15 years we have offered a monthly community meditation in LaGrange, Georgia. Community Meditation is ALWAYS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. No experience is necessary.
Our Approach
The Center For Mindful Exploration and Hillside Yoga & Wellness are proud to partner in offering this free monthly gathering as a gift to our community.
We meet at Hillside Yoga and Wellness located at 8 Garfield Street, LaGrange, GA
7-8pm, the first Wednesday of each month.
This is a welcoming space for anyone who wants to experience the benefits of meditation, whether you're curious, just getting started, or have been practicing for years. Each session is led by an experienced instructor and introduces a different meditation practice, giving participants the opportunity to explore a variety of approaches and discover what resonates with them.
Our Monthly Meditation Rotation
Each month we explore a different style of meditation as part of an ongoing four-month rotation. Our intention is to introduce participants to a variety of meditation practices so you can discover what feels most natural and meaningful for you. Whether you attend one session or join us each month, you'll gain experience with different approaches that can help you build a personalized meditation practice.
Month 1 (January, May, September) – Guided Meditation
An instructor gently leads the meditation with spoken guidance to help quiet the mind, increase awareness, and cultivate relaxation. Guided meditation is a wonderful place to begin if you're new to meditation.
Month 2 (February, June, October) – Listening Meditation
Using sound, music, or other focused listening practices, this meditation invites you to develop presence by paying close attention without judgment. Listening meditation encourages mindfulness through the simple act of receiving.
Month 3 (March, July, November) – Breath Meditation
One of the oldest and most widely practiced forms of meditation, breath meditation uses awareness of the breath as an anchor for attention. Participants learn simple techniques to calm the nervous system, improve focus, and return to the present moment.
Month 4 (April, August, December) – Silent Meditation
Silent meditation offers an opportunity to practice stillness with minimal guidance. Participants are invited to settle into quiet awareness using the skills they've developed through the other meditation styles, allowing space for reflection, insight, and inner calm.
After the fourth month, the rotation begins again, offering both newcomers and returning participants the opportunity to deepen their practice and continue exploring different paths to mindfulness.
Community Meditation is always free and open to the public. No registration is needed. No experience is needed.
